What is the Peoples Group?

We host meetings every 2 months (as requested by those that attend):

The Peoples Group is an exclusive membership available to all of the people we support at Calton House.  Our service user Sharon, is the groups elected Chair and she was voted into position by her peers.  Calton Staff support Sharon to organise, host and note a bi monthly meeting.

This is their opportunity to discuss and feedback on all aspects of the tailored care and support they receive.  Everything from the activities that they would like to do to the day-to-day running of the time they spend with their support.

The group provides the people we support with the opportunity to discuss all elements of their care and discuss any services they would like to see. The bi-monthly agenda is 100% driven by their own choice and so far we have discussed:

• Are we happy with our support?
• Group activities
• Any concerns?
• Group holidays/outings
• Fundraising ideas
• What we want to see hosted at The Hub
• Let's talk about our homes?
• I want to volunteer
• I want to learn to read and write
• I want to talk about Menopause
• I want to learn IT safety or even how to use a computer

The group are coming up with a host of ideas, which are all driven and delivered with support. The group provides a fantastic opportunity for Calton staff to get feedback, look for trends and action on any concerns and service improvements. This group is open to ALL of the people Calton house are contracted to provide support service with.

They are hosted face to face or with the option of joining via Teams.
